2.1 General Procedure

For Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification in non-hazardous
environments
• Installation must be approved by the CSA or other regulator with jurisdictional
authority
• The device must be permanently connected, reliably Earthed, and protected with
an appropriate power disconnect device as part of the building installation
• Any DC power source must be from a certified power source
• An approved disconnect device and overcurrent protection must be provided for
any DC power source
• Only use properly rated and certified AC/DC power cables
• Product must only be used in a restricted-access indoor location
• Ambient temperature must not exceed 85° C (185° F)
• A minimum forced airflow of 0.27 m/s at 400 CFM is required
• A minimum of 2.5 cm (1 in) of space is required between units
• A pollution degree of 2 is required
• The failsafe relay connection must be from a certified Safey Extra-Low Voltage
(SELV) source isolated from the mains supply
• Rack-mount installations must be performed by trained, certified personnel in
accordance to the installation instructions and local electrical code.

General Procedure
The general procedure for installing the device is as follows:

The user is responsible for the operating environment of the device, including
maintaining the integrity of all protective conductor connections and checking
equipment ratings. Make sure to review all operating and installation instructions
before commissioning or performing maintenance on the device.

2. Mount the device.
3. Connect the failsafe alarm relay.
4. Connect power to the device and ground the device to safety Earth.
5. Connect the device to the network.
