OPERATION

The Model NCC-1F from Siemens Industry,
Inc., provides the NCC-G computer with a
direct RS-485 connection to the SIEMENS
XNET, eliminating the requirement that the
NCC-G computer be located within 25 feet of
an NIM-1R/1W. The NCC-1F operates in both
Style 4 and Style 7 modes.

The module installs in the NCC-G computer
and requires an empty 16-Bit ISA slot. The
NCC-1F can be set to any standard PC COM
port address and interrupt.

CONFIGURATION

The NCC-1F comes from the factory config-
ured as COM 2. In most cases this does not
need to be changed. If COM 2 is not available,

use Table 1 to select the desired COM port. Be
sure to configure the NCC-G computer to use the
same port and IRQ for XNET communications.
See Figure 1 for the location of the jumpers.
