Radio paging

 (not for U.S.)

If paging equipment is connected to your system, you can contact people via
their assigned pocket receivers. The person you page can then go to the near-
est telephone and call you.

Relay

You can activate and deactivate particular devices (such as relays).

Release trunk

You can release busy external trunks. Active calls on that trunk are discon-
nected. The trunk is free again and can be used for external calls once more.

Relocate procedure

 (phone change)

You can log off and unplug your System telephone from its present connec-
tion point and plug it back in and log on at another connection point (relocation
destination).

Reserve trunk

You can reserve a busy external trunk for yourself.

Reset services

You can reset activated functions.

Retrieve line

If you have programmed a hold key on your telephone, you can place external
calls on hold. Any other user can then pick up or retrieve the call on the as-
signed line.

Ringer cutoff

You can activate and deactivate the audible signal. Calls continue to be sig-
naled visually on your display or on a key.

Room monitor

 (baby phone)

You can acoustically monitor a specific room.

Sending and retrieving a message text

 (

Æ

21)

You can send predefined messages to colleagues who have optiset E system
telephones. You can also display messages sent to your telephone.

Silent monitor

 (U.S. only)

If you have the appropriate authorization, you can switch into an internal par-
ty’s ongoing call and listen unnoticed to the call.

Speaker call

You can talk to another party via the loudspeaker in his telephone.

Speed dial - station

You can save and dial up to ten individual destination numbers under the nu-
meric keys

*

0 through

*

Speed dial - system

By entering three-digit speed dial numbers you can dial destination numbers
stored in a central location.

Station COS changeover

 (locking telephone)

You can prevent unauthorized use during your absence. You can define your
own PIN (lock code) needed for this purpose.

System telephone lock

 (lock all phones)

You can lock other telephones to prevent unauthorized use, and unlock them
again.
