Interface and Connections

The following interfaces and connections are on the device side:

•

Line
The pair of pilot wires (shielded copper cable is recommended) is connected to the Line interface with
the 2-phase screw terminal (line) (a pair of wires). The adjacent shield connection on the right is
connected to the copper-cable shielding. The Line signals are galvanically separated from the other
circuits (see

) and are exchanged with the opposite side via the pair of pilot wires.

•

Fiber Optic (FO)
The FO interfaces are used to connect a protection device. Serial signals are transmitted via these inter-
faces. The optical properties including the connectivity technique match those of the FO5 module or
USART-AD-1FO/USART-AE-2FO (ST connector, 820 nm, DC coupling), which must be plugged in the
protection device as a protection interface.

Life Contact
An isolated change-over contact is available as a device OK interface, the 3 connections of which are
guided out of the device.

shows the Life Contact in the switched-off state or if the device has

failed (Life Contact connection 1 to 3 closed). If the following conditions are met, the Life Contact signal
is activated (Life Contact connection 1 to 2 closed):

A connection between the devices has been established.

–

The power supply for internal logic is OK.

–

The internal logic is working perfectly.

•

Power supply
The auxiliary voltage is connected to the 2-phase screw terminal with the N/- L/+ designation. For permis-
sible values and tolerances, see
