3.2
Electrical installation
The sensors should be connected to the signal processing unit as shown
with
the sensor cables provided. The cables should be fixed to the tunnel ceiling using appro-
priate means, and ensuring that no sections hang loose. Excess cable can be stored in the
cable holder below the signal processing unit. The cable length between the sensors and
the junction box is 15 m.
The cabling for the connection of the power supply to the SPU is to be provided by the
customer, as is the connection from the analog output.
The sensor cables are secured with a saftey screw to prevent accidental disconnection. To
remove the cables
Loosen the screw (1)
Turn the cable sheath (2) to release it from the mounting (3)
Unscrew the connection (4)

WARNING:
Cable connections must comply with Zone 0 requirements
Only the SICK original cables provided may be used for connecting the trans-
ducers to the SPU.
Ensure that cable entries are closed so as to be leak tight
Retain plugs for future use when needed
