3.1.3
Mounting of Signal processing Unit (SPU) and cable holder
Following the mounting of sensors, and determining of path angle and path length:
Drill holes for SPU and cable holder as specified in
Mount SPU and cable holder using the correct mounting set as shown in
3.1.4
Alignment of sensors
After mounting of sensors to the tunnel walls, special attention must be paid on proper
alignment of sensors and exact determination of path length and path angle.
Perform the steps below for each sensor in order to properly adjust the sensors:
1
Loosen the hexagon screws at the mounting bracket for vertical sensor adjustment.
2
Adjust sensor vertically exactly towards the opposite sensor. Use an optical alignment
aid (e.g. laser pointer) if applicable.
3
Tighten hexagon screws properly to avoid unintended misalignment.
4
Loosen hexagon screw at the mounting bracket for horizontal sensor adjustment.
5
Adjust sensor horizontally exactly towards the opposite sensor front. Use a optical align-
ment aid (e.g. laser pointer) if applicable.
6
Tighten hexagon screws properly to avoid unintended misalignment.
7
After proper alignment, mark position of mounting bracket position by adequate means
in order to easily realign the sensors in case of accidental misalignment.
8
Take measures against accidental misalignment.

NOTICE:
The SPU must be mounted on a smooth surface to prevent damage which
may compromise the intrinsic safety of the unit.
SPU should have sufficient clearance from surrounding objects to enable
access to terminal connections (
