Apart from a few exceptions, each printed character corresponds to an ASCII character that needs to be decoded.
In the case of Code 39 extended, Code 93, Code 128 and EAN 128, the number of characters in the device data string may be bigger than
the number of characters in the printed image, because this consists of several character sets.
