About This Product
The DNPH (2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine) active gas tube is a sampler
capable of determining the concentration of aldehydes and ketones in the
environment, typified by formaldehyde (HCHO), by using a pump to
suction them from the atmosphere.
The sampler immobilizes the airborne aldehydes and ketones by putting
them in contact with silica gel impregnated with
2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (hereinafter "DNPH") in a polyethylene tube.
Then after extracting the aldehydes and ketones with acetonitrile, they
are measured by high-performance liquid chromatography (hereinafter
"HPLC").
The product is best suited for use in measuring indoor environments.
