(2) Cleaning Dirt from the Balloon Fabric
Wipe away any dirt or grime by using a cloth to which a neutral detergent has been applied.
<Note>
Do not use any solvents such as alcohol or gasoline to clean.
Do not clean by scrubbing or using a washing machine. Doing so can damage the fabric
coating.
(3) Repairing the Balloon Fabric
Affix a repair patch (adhesive on backside) to the surface of the balloon fabric. Clean away
any dust or oil from the patch application area before affixing and press strongly on the
patch after affixing.
(4) Adjusting the Brakes
WARNING: TIPPING OVER
As the tower light brake function cannot be used when adjusting the brake,
always be sure to position the tower light on a level surface with a solid
foundation, place wheel chocks and lower the mast until it is at the lowest
position.
If the brake effectiveness seems weak even though tire pressure is between 196 to 245
kPa (2.0 to 2.5 kgf/cm
2
), perform the following procedures to correct the angle of the brake
stopper.
Move this tower light to a level location and place wheel chocks.
Release the wheel brakes. (Refer to "5-2. Applying the Wheel Brakes".)
Loosen the nuts of the right and left brake rods.
Set the brake stopper angle at a position that is
inclined approximately 10° to the wheel side
from directly vertical.
Tighten the nuts of the right and left brake rods
to secure the stoppers.
Further increase the stopper angle if the brakes
are not sufficiently effective.
(5) Applying Grease to Pulleys
Remove the two bolts and bolt/nut assembly
securing the pulley cover.
