Cylinder cooling fins
ΠRemove and clean the cylinder cover and clean dirt and debris
from the cylinder cooling fins.
Remove and replace the fuel filter
ΠUse a piece of metal wire or the like to pick up fuel filter
through fuel tank opening.
ΠPull old filter from fuel line.

Install new fuel filter.
Gearcase lubrication
To perform this operation, first remove the gearcase from the out-
er tube as follows:
1. Clean dirt from grease fitting.
2. Loosen the gearcase clamp bolt.
3. Remove the index bolt from the gearcase.
4. Slide the gearcase out of the tube. Using a grease gun,
pump urea-base grease (about 10 grams) into the grease fit-
ting on the gearcase until you see old grease being purged
from the gearcase. Purged grease will be visible in the outer
tube cavity.
5. Clean up excess grease, then reassemble the gearcase
onto the outer tube. Make sure the index bolt fits into the hole
on the outer tube. Securely tighten both bolts.

NOTE
If filter is excessive dirty or no longer fits properly, replace it.

CAUTION
 
Do not remove the D-shaped shim washer from the
gearcase clamp. The shim washer prevents damage
from overtightening the tube clamp bolt.
