Remove the retaining screw.

Hold the plate and rear derailleur body firmly when working, as there is spring force applied to the
plate.

Loosen the plate tension spring.
While turning the plate, pull it away from the derailleur body slightly so there is a gap for the protrusion on
the plate. Be sure to only pull the plate out enough to clear the protrusion, otherwise the spring may pop
out.
