Playback of a group-recorded MD depends on the group mode
settings shown below.
When the group mode is selected
(“GROUP” lights up.)
Playback of every group starts from the first track of the group.
You can specify groups for playback.

Non-group tracks are played back after all the group-recorded tracks.
When the group mode is canceled
(“GROUP” goes out.)
Tracks are played back in the recorded order.

Switching the group mode
Inserting the group-recorded MD automatically sets the unit to
the group mode. (The first group is displayed.)
● If you eject the MD, the group mode is canceled.
To cancel the group mode:
While in the stop mode, press the GROUP button for 1 second
or more to extinguish “GROUP”.
MINIDISC PLAYBACK (pages 34 – 37)
1. Plug in the remote control and headphones.
Insert the plug fully.
2. Insert a MiniDisc.
Inserting a group-recorded MD automatically sets the unit to the
group mode.
3. Start playback by moving the M button toward

When you insert a playback-only MiniDisc or a MiniDisc
which is protected against accidental erasure, playback will
begin automatically without moving the M button toward

.
To adjust the volume:
Press the – or + button.
To adjust the bass:
1. Press the M .
The unit enters the menu select mode.
2. Move the M button toward

to select “B (BASS)”
and press it.
3. Move the M button toward

to select the bass
strength and press it.

Select the menu within 25 seconds.
● If you press the CLEAR button during the operation, the previ-
ous display appears.

To interrupt playback:

again to resume playback.
● About 5 minutes after the playback is paused, the unit enters
the stop mode and, 30 seconds later, the unit is turned off.
To stop playback:
Move the M button toward
during playback.
About 2 minutes after the playback is stopped, the unit is turned
off automatically.
To turn off the power:

To search a desired group:
1. Press the GROUP button so that “GROUP” flashes.
2. Within 5 seconds, move the M button toward

select the desired group.
