Maintenance
CAUTION, switch off supply voltage.
Before beginning any maintenance, switch off power supply or pull connector on the py-
rometer to prevent injury by accidentally activated laser targeting light!
10.1 Cleaning
Clean the lens with a soft cloth and a little acetone. Use only high-purity acetone to avoid residues.
The optics lens is not
to clean with solvents that contain acid
immerse in water or other liquids to clean
10.2 Change Protection Window / Lens at Manual Focusable Optics
The lens or the protective window in pyrometers with manually focusable optics can be changed, e.g.
for different measuring tasks or if it is scratched. The lenses are interchangeable without recalibration.
Preparation / Procedure:
Perform work in a clean and dust-free en-
vironment to prevent the ingress of con-
taminant and dirt into the pyrometer.
Hold the pyrometer with the lens upwards
so that the parts do not fall out after loos-
ening the screw rings. To remove the
parts, rotate the pyrometer with the lens
downwards and carefully drop parts down
into the hand.
Protective window change:
To replace the protective window, only
the protective window screw ring (from
the protective window holder) must be
removed, then the window can be re-
moved.
Install the new protective window, observ-
ing the order of the other parts, and tight-
en the screw ring of the protective window
unit.
Lens change:
The protection window unit can be removed by unscrewing the outer screw ring (from the protective
window holder).
Now the lens and the other parts shown in the picture can be removed.
Install the new lens according to the order of the other parts, and tighten the screw ring of the protec-
tive window unit (from the protective window holder).
Note the installation direction for plano-convex lenses:
2 different lens designs are used. For
plano-convex lenses, the installation direction is with the curvature in the direction to the measure-
ment object. Biconvex lenses are equal on both sides and therefore have no mounting direction.
