Note that this data has a Frame Sync Pattern of FF6B2840 hex that has been highlighted in
yellow, followed by a frame counter (00 03) highlighted in green. This is the exact data that will be
transmitted by the PHTS108. There is no extra information, such as formatting or headers, in this file.
Every byte contained in the file will be uploaded to the PHTS108 RAM for playback. Bits will be
transmitted in the order that the bytes are stored in the file, with each byte’s Most-Significant Bit (MSB)
transmitted out first.
For example: If a File started with following hexadecimal bytes:

Note:
Files must be a multiple of 32 bits (4 Bytes). If they are
not, the playback will be padded with zeros to fill up
to the next multiple of 32-bits. The maximum number of
bytes is 125MB (1,000,000,000 bits).

Chapter 10 File Playback
Previously recorded Chapter 10 data can be used as a modulation source in the PHTS108 File Playback
mode. However, a Chapter 10 data file is not a
Flat Binary File
. Chapter 10 data contains information
that instructs a recorder on how to play the data back. Chapter 10 file format can also contain multiple
streams of data.
Using a Chapter 10 data file as a data source for the PHTS108 requires the use of software to
convert the Chapter 10 data file to a
Flat Binary File
. This conversion can be readily accomplished using
software that has been developed by Wideband Systems, a Digital Telemetry Recorder company that
provides for recording that data in Chapter 10 format.
This software is available through SEMCO and has been provided to PHTS108 users who desire to
convert recorded Chapter 10 data files into
Flat Binary Files
and use this data as a modulation
source in the PHTS108
File Playback
mode. Contact SEMCO if a copy of this software is required.
The procedure for converting a recorded Chapter 10 data channel to a
Flat Binary File
using Wideband
Systems’ software is as follows:
Step 1
- Load the Chapter 10 file and the Wideband Systems’ software via any USB media, and launch
the Wideband Systems software, which will provide the GUI as shown in Figure 3-14.

- Using the file menu, select the desired Chapter 10 file as shown in Figures 3-15 and 3-16.
