10.2. Login/Logout configuration (User mobility)
Login/logout feature allows user to register his own parameters (username and password) on each
NETfon with login/logout feature activated.
A phone with login/logout feature activated, has its initial profile.
The login function allows the phone to register on a SIP server with two parameters (username and
password) and the initial profile is recovered with the new one.
The logout function allows the phone to return to its initial profile.
The feature is applicable to two possible scenarios:
a) provide some telephones with login/logout feature activated, available to users, outside their office,
who have the need to use the phone, for a short time, with their own parameters (e.g. their local
address book, their function keys) and, at the end of use, log off;
b) call-center scenario where all the telephones have login/logout feature activated and every operator,
when starts his shift, chooses a location and logs in with the profile assigned to him and, at the end of
his shift, logs off.
Any other information concerning the use of such feature by users and any operation to handle the
feature offered, is treated in the following documents, published by SELTA spa:

WARNING!
a) TFTP server is required.
b) The second method of provisioning is required (see “
Understanding startup process and
configuration
” paragraph); to resume, on TFTP server, all telephones where Login-Logout is active can
have the same *.cfg file (it corresponds to their initial profile) but each user/operator has to have his
own *.cfg file (it corresponds to his own profile).
c) TFTP server with permission to upload files is required, because the Login/Logout feature tries to
backup the local telephone book file (
<first account number>.rgb
file e.g.“
2000.rgb
”) every time a user
who performs a LOGIN, modifies his “Local Telephone Book”.
