1.3 Hazard areas and residual hazards
Sensors are connected to containers and pipes that may be under
pressure. Leakage of the process medium may only occur in case
of negligence and incorrect operation.

Before disassembling the sensor, therefore, depressurise the
system or the system part and empty it completely.

Before commissioning and after maintenance, always ensure
that all seals and connections are fully in place and
functional.

Take suitable protective measures before touching the
sensor as parts may be heated by the process.
1.4 Operating equipment
Only use certified and approved accessories and operating
equipment.
The device does not require any elastomer seals for the model
variant STS15-PM.
If you use a variant with elastomer seal such
as type STS15-PE, PV or PK, please note the following points:

Select the material properties of the process seal and O-rings
according to the process medium and the flushing fluid.
Avoid loosening the O-ring when installing the sensor to
prevent leaks.

observe the swelling capacity and the acid or alkaline
resistance of the sealing material.
1.5 Personnel
Installation and maintenance of the sensor may only be carried
out by specialist personnel!
