A Post-Service Tests
This chapter describes standard tests to perform after servicing a Segway PT.
WARNING!
• Read all instructions. Failure to do so could lead to electrical shock,
serious injury, death, or damage to property.
CAUTION!
• When a repair involves opening the console or chassis cover, best
practice electrostatic discharge (ESD) control procedures must be
followed. Failure to follow ESD procedures could result in personal
injury or damage to property.
Startup Test
1. Make sure the Wireless InfoKey Controller properly powers on the PT
without any error messages.
Standard Check
1. Check that fasteners are in place, secure, and torqued correctly.
2. Check wheels for wear, tightness, and tire pressure.
3. Check that the Mats are intact, secure, and free of debris.
4. Check the LeanSteer Frame for tightness. Make sure the LeanSteer
Frame returns to center.
5. Check to make sure that no part is damaged or loose.
Operational Test
1. Check for obstruction under the Mats.
2. Check the LeanSteer Frame for tightness and centered orientation.
3. Turn on and power off the PT twice.
4. Confirm adequate battery levels.
5. Turn on the PT and test the rider detect. Make sure that the display
does not indicate that the rider detect button is on at startup. Tilt the
PT back and press each rider detect button.
6. While holding the PT level, tap the Mat with a foot to enter balance
mode.
7. Step on and ride the PT. Move forward and backward. Turn 360 degrees
to the left and to the right.
