Gearbox
Removal
Tools Required: T-45 6-lobe wrench
Rubber mallet
1. Make sure the PT is powered off and unplugged.
2. Remove the LeanSteer Frame (
page 1–5 ).
3. Remove the LeanSteer Stem ( page 1–6 ).
4. Remove the Mats ( page 2–2 ).
5. Remove the Batteries ( page 3–2 ).
6. Remove the Tire/Wheel Assemblies.

7. Remove the Fenders
− i2 SE ( page 5–2 )
− x2 SE ( page 5–3 )
8. Remove the Console Cover ( page 6–3 ).
9. Remove the Front and Rear Fascia ( page 6–4 ).
10. Using a T-45 6-lobe wrench, remove the three
gearbox fasteners and discard. See Figure 7–1 .
NOTICE
Gearbox fasteners are installed with thread lock
compound and require significant leverage to loosen
for the duration of thread engagement. Use of new
gearbox fasteners with new thread lock compound is
required for proper installation.
11. Remove the gearbox. Using a rubber mallet,
gently tap the chassis side of the gearbox housing
alternating front and back. Repeat until the gearbox
is unseated. Lift the gearbox off the chassis and set
aside. See
Figure 7–2 .
