6 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
•
Before cleaning, the device must be disconnected from the
power supply.
•
Allow the device and all its components to cool down for at
least 30 minutes.
•
Never immerse the device into water or other liquids.
•
Do not place the device in the dishwasher.
Detergents
•
Use only detergents which are food suitable to clean the parts that are in connection
with water.
•
Do not use harsh, aggressive and corrosive detergents.
•
Do not use alcohol or other solvents.
•
Do not use abrasives.
•
Do not use essential oils.
These instructions apply for all surfaces of your device.
The surface of the product can be damaged by using such detergents.
Cleaning the device
1.
Make sure the boiling process is completed, the device is turned off and it has cooled down.
2. Open the lid (5) by pulling the lid opening handle (1) upwards.
3. If necessary empty the water kettle.
4.
Take out the permanent fi lter from the spout and rinse it under running water.
5. Wipe out the water kettle with warm water, if necessary with a mild detergent.
6. Rinse the device.
7. Clean the surfaces of the device with a damp cloth.
8.
Dry all parts thoroughly and insert again the permanent fi lter.
Descaling
1. Open the lid (5) by pulling the lid opening handle (1) upwards.
2. Fill the water kettle with cold water. Filling quantity should always be between the markings
‘MIN’ (0.5l) and ‘MAX’ (1.7l) shown on the water gauge (4). Overfi lling the device may cause
the escape of hot water during operation.
3. Add descaler (dosage according to instructions) or 80ml vinegar essence to the water.
4. Close the lid (5).
5. Place the water kettle onto the kettle base (3) until it snaps into place. Only a proper
connection of water kettle and kettle base (3) ensures a smooth operation.
6. Connect the device to the power supply.
7.
Turn the On/Off switch (2) to position ‘I’ to start the water kettle. The operation indicator
lights up to confi rm the start of operation.
