When the throttle is released, the
watercraft is slowed by water drag
against the hull. The stopping dis-
tance will vary depending on the
watercraft size, weight, speed, water
surface condition, presence and direc-
tion of wind and current.
The iBR system can also be used for
slowing down or for stopping more
quickly, and for increasing maneuver-
ability especially when docking.
The operator should practice in open
waters at various speeds to become
familiarized with the stopping distan-
ces under different conditions. Stop-
ping using the iBR system in a straight
line and in a turn should be practiced
extensively to become familiar with
the handling characteristics of the
watercraft under partial or full braking
conditions.

When at speed and the brake is first
applied, a plume of water will shoot up
in the air behind the watercraft and
may cause the operator of a following
watercraft to momentarily loose sight
of your PWC.

The operator should also practice
docking with an imaginary dock using
the various controls available (iBR lev-
er and throttle lever).
Release the throttle at a sufficient dis-
tance before the expected landing
area.
Reduce speed to idle.
Maneuver using a combination of the
iBR lever and throttle lever, shifting to
neutral,
reverse,
or
forward
as
required.
Remember that when operating in re-
verse, steering direction is reversed.
Turning the handlebars to the left will
move the stern to the right when back-
ing up, and vice-versa.
