Removal
•
Slacken all screws. Depending on the size of the bush, remove one or
two. After oiling the point and thread of the grub screws or under the
head and thread of cap screws, insert them into the jacking off holes in
bush.
•
Tighten screws uniformly and alternately until the bush is loose in the
hub and the pulley is free on the shaft.
•
Remove pulley and bush assembly from the shaft.
Lubrication points
Lubrication points are to be greased with multi-purpose grease. Excess
grease escaping from bearings is to be removed.
Bearing housings
All cast bearing housings (see example) have a
greaser located on them to grease the bearing
inserts. These housings are located:
•
Rotor shaft (both ends)
Lubricate all bearing housing greasers daily
The bearing housing shown below has 3 sealed bearings in it so therefore
does not need greasing. It also features additional seals in both ends of the
housing. It is important that these outer seals are present and in good
condition to stop any dirt/ foreign bodies from entering the bearing and
causing damage.
Remember to remove escaping grease from bearings.
