UV Overexposure
Symptoms can be delayed several hours to a day and include sunburn and photokeratitis (also known as
snow blindness or
welder’s flash) .

Skin irritation can vary in severity depending on the level of exposur e, a person’s genetics , and
some medications. Chronic exposure to UV radiation has been linked to premature skin aging
and skin cancer.

UV radiation can damage the cornea, which is the outer protective coating of the eye.
Photokeratitis is a painful inflammation with symptoms such as an itching feeling like sand is in
your eye that can last for several days. Chronic exposures to short term UV radiation can lead to
the formation of cataracts.
