11 Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible Cause

Solution

The filter does not darken or is
unstable when switching from light to
dark and back again.

The external transparent protection
of the filter is dirty or damaged.

Replace the external transparent
protection.

The sensors are dirty.

Clean the surface of the sensor.

The welding current level (sensitivity)
is too low.

Increase the sensitivity.

The batteries are not in good condi-
tion or are not inserted correctly.

Replace or remove the batteries and
reinsert them properly.

Battery clamps and the contact sur-
faces of the filter are dirty or oxidised.

Clean both.

The "WELD-GRIND" switch on the
filter is in the "GRIND" position.

Set the switch to the "WELD" posi-
tion.

Switching over too slow

The operating temperature is too
low.

Do not use the device at temperatu-
res below -5°C (+23°F).

Bad visibility

The external or/and internal protec-
tion of the filter is/are dirty or dama-
ged.

Clean the dirty components and re-
place the damaged parts.

Not enough light in the surrounding
area.

Ensure adequate lighting.

Value in the numerical scale is not
set correctly, or the set value of the
numerical scale is unsuitable.

If possible, use the correct number.

Filter darkening occurs without pre-
vious arc signal

Sensitivity is too high.

Adjusting the sensitivity to the correct
level.

Filter remains darkened after com-
pleting the welding process

Delay set too high.
Ambient light is too bright.

Set delay.
Reduce the light level.

Welding splashes damage the filter

Missing, damaged, broken, distorted
front cover.

Replace the front cover shield.

Irregular darkening

The headband is incorrectly adjusted
and there is an uneven distance bet-
ween the eyes and the filter lens.

Set the headband back to reduce the
different distance to the filter.

Colour code is set incorrectly.

Set the correct colour number

Welding helmet does not fit properly

Headband is not adjusted correctly.

Readjust the headgear.

WARNUNG!

The user must immediately remove the welding hel-
met if the above problems cannot be solved. Contact
your dealer.
