6.3.3. Step 3
– PROFIBUS settings
The PROFIBUS subscribers behind the transmission path
have to be entered into the radio master. This is necessary
because all further telegrams for wired subscribers are
filtered similar to an Ethernet switch to minimize the data
traffic on the transmission path. The further steps describe
the required procedure.

GC Time: 000x0,5s
The radio master transmits cyclically and after a change of
the operating condition of the DP master a Global Control
telegram to all connected slaves. This happens every
5 seconds at standard setting
“000”.
This time can be changed in steps of 0,5 seconds to assure
a maximum compatibility with DP slaves from different
suppliers. The cyclic transmission of the Global Control
telegram is completely suppressed at a value of 255.
Generally the GC Time should not be changed. Change
the GC Time only after consultation with Schildknecht .
