The
Thunderbolt Port doesn’t appear to
work.
The Thunderbolt Port must be enabled in the BIOS
. You will need to enable
Thunderbolt support in the BIOS
“Intel(R) Thunderbolt Technology
(Advanced Menu > Intel(R) Thunderbolt)” on page 5 - 10
.
An
external display
will not connect to the
Thunderbolt Port.
The security level of the Thunderbolt Port must be set to support Display only in
order to support external display connections
. If you want to use the Thunderbolt
port to support display devices then you will need to set the security level to
support display devices only (see
“Security Level (Advanced Menu > Intel(R)
Thunderbolt)” on page 5 - 11
). When the Thunderbolt port is set to be used for
display only, then
Mini
DisplayPort 2
(
in
Figure 1 - 13 on page 1 - 21
)
will
be turned off.
One of the
Mini
DisplayPorts doesn’t
work.
You have enabled the Thunderbolt port as Display only and this turns one of the
Mini DisplayPorts off
. See
“Security Level (Advanced Menu > Intel(R)
Thunderbolt)” on page 5 - 11
and change the security level of the port.

Ejecting USB Devices
In order to prevent system problems
do not simply directly pull cables out from the USB port
when removing USB devices. Go to the
notification area of the taskbar in the Desktop app, and click on the
Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media
icon. If you have quickly
unplugged a device from the USB port, and then can’t find the device when re-plugged, you will then need to restart the system in order to
find the device again.
