ENGLISH
SAFETY INFORMATION
The minimum floor protection area must be at least that specified in the heating appliance installation
instructions. Always refer to the certification plate on the appliance for the floor area to protect.
This floor protection:
• Must
not
be cut or trimmed;
• Must
not
be installed on a carpeted surface;
• Must
not
be installed side by side with another floor protection;
• Must be installed in accordance with local building code;
• Must be installed on a continuous, flat and level surface.
• If installed with a zero clearance fireplace, the
joint
between the wall and the floor protection
must
be
sealed
with non combustible material.
INSTALLATION
1. Carefully unpack the glass hearth pad and secure it in a safe location, while preparing the floor
for the installation.
2. Clean the floor area where the hearth pad will be installed. It
must
be free of debris or any other
materials that could cause the glass to set unlevel and potentially break.
3. Clean
thoroughly
the underside of the hearth pad. Once the pad is in place it will be impossible
to clean the underside without lifting it up again. This step is very important as glass will show the
slightest imperfection or smear.
4. Carefully place the back edge of the glass pad in position it will be in, then lower the glass pad
down and gently place on the floor. Once flat on the floor, inspect for smears or debris that could
be under the glass. Using a bright flashlight is recommended. Ensure the glass pad is in the
correct location.
5. Lift the appliance and place into the desired position. Be careful not to scratch the glass.
6. Clean the surface thoroughly.
MAINTENANCE
Clean glass with wood stove glass cleaner and paper towel or damp cloth.
Never clean when the
hearth pad or the appliance is hot.
