Routing and drilling device
51
Only work with the routing and drilling device when the extraction system is connected. Wood dust
is dangerous to your health. If necessary, wear suitable mouth and nose protection, e.g., an FFP2
mask.
18.4
Personal protective equipment and other safety instructions
When working with the routing and drilling device, especially in connection with the router used, the
following instructions must be observed:
•
If you have long hair, be sure to wear a hair net or ensure that your hair cannot come into
contact with rotating parts when working with the routing and drilling device.
•
Always wear close-fitting clothing when working with the routing and drilling device.
•
Wear safety shoes when working with the routing and drilling device.
•
Always wear ear protection when working with the routing and drilling device. In particular,
follow the instructions in the operating manual for the router you are using.
•
If you feel unwell, always stop working with the routing and drilling device until you feel well
again.
•
Keep your work area clean to avoid slip and trip hazards.
18.5
Hazards that may arise from the routing and drilling device
A hazard analysis was carried out with the routing and drilling device. It corresponds to the current
state of the art.
When used as intended, it is safe to operate. Limit stops have been fitted to prevent loss of control
of individual components.
The use of routers together with the routing and drilling device creates hazards from the electric
current.
There is danger from the electric current. The electrical energy can cause serious inju-
ries. If the insulation or individual components of the router used are damaged, there
is a danger to life. In such cases, take the router out of operation and have it repaired.
Before repair, maintenance and cleaning work, the plug for connecting the router used to the power
supply must be unplugged.
18.6
Residual risks
Even when used as intended and despite compliance with all possible protective measures, the fol-
lowing residual risks may still exist:
•
Risk of injury due to workpieces and workpiece parts being ejected.
•
Risk of injury from ejected tool parts when the tool bursts
•
Unintentional contact with the rotating tool of the router being used.
•
Risk of injury from the electric current
