S84-ex/S86-ex Service Manual

5.6 Replacing the Operator Panel KB PCB

Required tool:

• Phillips screwdriver

Make sure that the printer is in power off mode, then disconnect the power cord from 
the AC outlet.

Remove two 

screws

 

 attaching the 

operator panel assembly

 

 to the center 

frame.

Disconnect the 

connector

 

 on the rear of 

the 

operator panel assembly

 

.

4

Remove four 

screws

 

, attaching the 

operator panel KB PCB

 

 to the 

operator panel assembly

 

.

5

Press the catch on the right side of 

operator panel assembly

 

 and 

remove the 

operator panel KB PCB

 

. 

Replace the defective 

operator panel 

KB PCB

 

with a new 

operator panel 

KB PCB

.

Perform the assembly with the reverse 
procedure.

After replacement

• Adjust the print darkness.

Refer to 

Adjustment of the Print Darkness

 in chapter 5 of S84-ex/S86-ex operator manual.

• Adjust the pitch.

Refer to
