7. Temperature Calibration
Caution:
1
)
Each time the soldering iron handle, the heating element or the soldering bit is replaced, the temperature of
the soldering bit shall be calibrated again.
2
)
If it is locked by the password, the temperature cannot be calibrated until you enter the correct password.
3
)
It is recommended to measure the temperature of the soldering bit with a soldering iron thermometer.
The temperature calibration method is as follows:
1
)
Set the soldering station at a certain temperature
(
e.g. 350
℃)
.
2
)
Measure the temperature of the soldering bit with a soldering iron thermometer and record the reading when the
temperature is stable.
3
)
Press and hold the "
▲
" and "
▼
" keys and then press the "
*
" key. The window will display "CAL" indicating that it is
in the temperature calibration mode.
4
)
At this time, the hundreds digit in the window will be lighted. Press the "
▲
" and "
▼
" key to select a value and then
confirm it. Press the "
*
" key to select the next digit. Enter the reading of the thermometer in this way and then
press the "
*
" key. The window will display "
" , indicating that the temperature calibration is completed.
5
)
Repeat the above calibration steps if there is still an error in the temperature.
8. Use and Maintenance of Soldering Bit
8.1 Selection of Appropriate Soldering Bit
The lead-free soldering bit used for lead-free welding is more likely to incur wear and voids due to high tin content, high
soldering iron temperature and the diffusion of tin, so that the life of the soldering bit is significantly shortened. For the use
of soldering bit, it is recommended to:
1
)
Select a soldering bit with the largest contact area with the welding spot so that the most efficient heat transfer can
be ensured and the operator can finish a high-quality welding spot quickly.
2
)
Select a soldering bit with a good path for transferring heat to the welding spot. The short soldering bit allows precise
heat control. However, for densely assembled circuit boards, a long or angled soldering bit would be better.
