LCD Panel convergence adjustment.

Convergence adjustment
1.
Set the image to "service mode" and project a grid pattern on a screen.
*
When the Green LCD panel was replaced, project a cyan or yellow grid pattern.
*
When the Red LCD panel was replaced, project a yellow grid pattern.
*
When the Blue LCD panel was replaced, project a cyan grid pattern.
2.
Loosen the 2 screws-

(Figure 3 and 4 on page46), or check that
they are loosening.
To make parallel.
3. By using screw-
E,
turn the grid pattern which needs adjustment
and make it parallel with standard grid pattern.
(Figure-5)
To converge vertical line.
4.
By using screw-
F,
move horizontally the grid pattern which needs
adjustment and converge it on vertical lines of standard grid pat-
tern.
(Figure-6)
5.
Tune finely by repeating Steps 3 and 4.
To converge horizontal line.
6.
By using screw-
G,
move vertically the grid pattern which needs
adjustment and converge it on horizontal lines of standard grid
pattern.
(Figure-7)
7.
Tune finely by repeating steps 3 through 6.
8.
Tighten the 2 screws-
D
(previously loosened in step 2 above) with
the allen wrench.
9.
After tightening the screws, check the adjusted convergence con-
dition. If not aligned repeat steps 2 through 8.
(The convergence condition may shift by tightening the screw-

It becomes impossible to adjust a convergence, if all the LCD pan-
els are simultaneously replaced. When all the LCD panels are dam-
aged, replace the whole LCD panel / prism assembly.

T USING LIGHT BLOCK SHEET

Don’t using light block sheet. It becomes the cause which burns
polarizer
.

Before convergence adjustment.
Make sure each Red, green and Blue LCD Panel has been correctly
installed, and that focus adjustment has been completed before preform-
ing convergence adjustment.
Screws E, F and G (Figure-3 on page-46.) are for convergence adjust-
ment.
■
Image movement and screw turning.
To make parallel. :
Adjustment screw "E" turns the image.
To converge vertical line.:
Adjustment screw "F" moves the image right and left.
To converge horizontal line.:
Adjustment screw "G" moves the image up and down.
