Working with contacts
The MSN Messenger screen shows all of
your messenger contacts at a glance,
divided into
Online
and
Not Online
categories. From this view, while connected,
you can start a chat by tapping a contact on
the list.
• To add a contact, tap
Menu
and select
Add a Contact...
Enter the person’s
e-mail address and tap
Next
→
Done
.
• To delete a contact, tap and hold the
contact and select
Delete Contact
.
• To set the MSN Messenger to
automatically update the contacts’ status
when it changes, tap and hold the contact
and select
Auto update status
.
• To send an e-mail message, tap and hold
the contact and select
Send Mail
.
• To view the properties of a contact, tap
and hold the contact and select
Properties
.
• To block a contact from chatting with you,
tap and hold the contact and select
Block
.
Note
: To see others online without being seen,
on the
MSN Messenger screen, tap
Menu
→
My Status
→
Appear Offline
.
If you block a contact, you will appear
offline to that contact, but will remain
on the blocked contact’s list. To unblock
a contact, tap and hold the contact and
select
Unblock
from the pop-up menu.
Chatting with contacts
1. To open a chat window, tap and hold the
contact with whom you want to chat and
select
Send an Instant Message
.
2. Enter your message in the text entry
area at the bottom of the screen, or tap
Menu
and select
My Text
to enter a
preset message.
3. Tap
Send
to send the message.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to chat with the
contact.
