When unable to establish an infrared communication:
1. Check your BIOS Setup.
1) Turn the computer on and press the
F2
key to enter the BIOS Setup.
2) Select
I/O Device Configuration
in the
Advanced
menu and press the
Enter
key.
3) Select
IRDA Device
, and press the
F5
or
F6
key to set it to
Enabled
.
4) Save the settings and exit Setup.
2. Check the Windows settings.
1) Click
Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System >
Hardware tab > Device Manger
.
2) Double-click on the '
SMC IrCC - Fast Infrared Port
' item below the '
IrDA
Device
' item.
3) In the Properties field in the
Advanced
tab, select '
Infrared
' and select '
HP
'
in the
Value
field.
4) Click the
OK
button.
