Installation
− The requested or required additional
pipe fittings (see the 'Additional fittings'
section) have been installed or prepared
as necessary before installing the valve.
Risk of control valve damage due to incor-
rect insulation.

Only insulate control valves with
insulating section up to the bonnet flange
of the valve body for medium
temperatures below 0 °C (32 °F) and
above 220 °C (428 °F). If the insulating
section is insulated, it will not function
properly.
Proceed as follows:
Î
Lay out the necessary material and tools
to have them ready during installation
work.
Î
Flush the pipelines.
The plant operator is responsible for clean-
ing the pipelines in the plant.
Î
For steam applications, dry the pipelines.
Moisture will damage the inside of the
valve.
Î
Check any mounted pressure gauges to
make sure they function properly.
Î
When the valve and actuator are al-
ready assembled, check the tightening
torques of the bolted joints (
u
AB 0100).
Components may loosen during trans -
port.
5.3 Mounting and installing the
device
Proceed as follows for assembly and to pre-
pare for start-up of the valve.
Risk of valve damage due to excessively
high or low tightening torques.
Observe the specified torques on tightening
control valve components. Excessively tight-
ened torques lead to parts wearing out
quicker. Parts that are too loose may cause
leakage.

Observe the specified tightening torques
(

AB 0100).
Risk of valve damage due to the use of un-
suitable tools.
Î
Only use tools approved by SAMSON
(
u
AB 0100).
5.3.1 Mounting the actuator
onto the valve
Î
To mount the actuator, proceed as de-
scribed in the associated actuator docu-
mentation.
