CAUTION!
(a) Use proper Crimping Tool to crimp the terminals to the bare ends of the conductors.
(b) Make sure that the AC cable is adequately clamped by the metal Strain Relief
Clamp (7, Fig 6.1a)

NOTES FOR TABLE 8.4
1) Column 2 indicates the rated continuous AC output current
2) Column 3 indicates NEC Ampacity based on which cable conductor size (Column 5) is
determined. NEC Ampacity is not less than 125% of the rated continuous AC output cur-
rent (Column 2) - Refer to NEC-2014 (National Electrical Code) - Section 215.2(A)(1)(a) for
Feeder Circuits.
3) Columns 5 indicates conductor size for the Line and Neutral conductors based on guide-
lines in NEC-2014 Table 310.15(B)(16) for conductors running in conduit / raceway.
(a) NEC Ampacity specified at Column 3 but limited to Breaker size of 30A (Column 4).
(b) Copper conductor with temperature rating of minimum 90˚C/194˚F
(c) Ambient temperature of 30°C / 86°F
4) Column (4) indicates the maximum size of external AC breaker (30A) based on maximum
NEC Ampacity of 30A for AWG#12 insulated copper conductor (Column 5) rated at 90°C /
194°F at 30°C / 86°F ambient – Refer to NEC-2014 Table 310.15(B)(16) for conductors run-
ning in conduit / raceway.
8.6 GROUNDING TO EARTH OR TO OTHER DESIGNATED GROUND
For safety, ground the metal chassis of the inverter to the Earth Ground or to the other
designated ground (For example, in a mobile RV, the metal frame of the RV is normally
designated as the Negative DC Ground). A chassis Grounding Lug (19, Fig 6.1c) has been
provided for grounding the metal chassis of the inverter to the appropriate ground.
When using the inverter in a building, connect a 10 mm
2
or AWG #8 insulated stranded
copper wire from the above equipment grounding lug to the Earth Ground connection ( a
connection that connects to the Ground Rod or to buried metallic water pipe or to another
connection that is solidly bonded to the Earth Ground ). The connections must be tight
against bare metal. Use star washers to penetrate paint and corrosion.
