Filling oil or melting fat
(effective capacity 5 - 7 litres)
- Close the drain tap (1).
- Remove cover and frying bas-
ket.
- Fill the container up to the MAX
mark with frying oil or place
frying fat on the heaters to melt
until the MAX mark is reached.
- Once the MIN mark has been
reached, the oil or fat must be
replenished.
Choice of frying temperature
- Turn the temperature control (4)
to the desired frying tempera-
ture. The green (2) and yellow
(3) indicator lamps light up.
- The yellow indicator lamp
remains lit up as long as the
heating is switched on. As soon
as it goes out, frying can be star-
ted.
Frying
- Place the food to be fried in the
basket, fill up to 1/3 to 1/2.
- Thoroughly shake off frozen
food before immersion.
- Place the basket in the tank.
- As soon as the food has the
desired brown colour, raise the
basket and hang in bracket (5)
to drip off.
Ready temperature
- To save energy, the temperature
control should be turned back to
100°C during long pauses in
operation.
Standby thermostat
- If the control thermostat does
not function correctly and the oil
overheats or if the oil level is too
low, the safety thermostat re-
sponds at 230°C and automati-
cally switches off the heating.
- The reset button is located on
the back of the heating connec-
tion box. The button can be
pressed in by means of a pin
and hence reset.
IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CHECK
THE OIL LEVEL.
- If the thermostat switches off
repeatedly, service must be re-
quested.
Maintenance
Filter the oil daily using the follo-
wing procedure:
- Remove the basket.
- Bring the heating element to the
drip position (7) by means of the
lever (6) and secure with the
retaining clip (8).
- Place the collecting container
with mounted oil filter under the
drain tap.
- The unit is equipped with a safe-
ty drain tap. To open it, pull the
lever upwards and then turn.
Drain the oil. It should still be at
a temperature of at least 60°C to
enable it to flow properly. Close
the drain tap immediately again.
- Empty the oil back into the deep
fat fryer tank. If necessary, add
more oil up to the MAX mark.
Cleaning
The deep fat fryer should be clea-
ned daily as follows:
- Carry out cleaning when the unit
is cold.
- Remove the basket, bring the
heating element to the drip posi-
tion (7) by means of the lever (6)
and secure with retaining clip
(8).
- Drain the frying oil completely.
- Clean the tank and heating ele-
ment with a mild cleaning agent
and rinse thoroughly. Clean the
basket in a dishwasher.
- Attention: Never clean the hea-
ting element with a steel wire
brush. Use household brushes
and ensure that the thermostat
sensors are not damaged.
- Do not spray the deep fat fryer
with a water jet.
- The outer jacket can be cleaned
with a commercial chromium
steel cleaner.
