Assigning users with Passage function.
Once the lock is in the “Passage Allowed Mode”, touch the yellow PMSK key followed by the user keys that are going to be able to activate and deactivate
Passage in this lock.
THE PASSAGE MODE FUNCTION
Activating and Deactivating Passage Allowed Mode
.
Touch the red PK key followed by the yellow PMSK key. Then close the process by presenting the red PK key again, or by waiting for the time out.
Note that if you deactivate the office mode from the lock and later re activate it again, the lock will remember which users previously could activate the Passage
function and re enable them.
Activating and Deactivating the Passage Function.
To activate and deactivate the passage setting in a lock hold down the inside
handle and then touch any previously assigned user key to the outside reader.
Note that any user key assigned to use the passage function on a lock will be able
to activate or deactivate passage.
DELETING KEYS
Deleting a lost user key.
If a user key is lost then it can be deleted from a lock just by touching the shadow
card of this user key to the reader. The user key related to the shadow key used is
deleted. Note that it is important to file all shadow keys with some form of
identification written on them so that in the event of a lost user key the correct
shadow key is used to delete it!
Deleting an existing user key.
If we want to delete a user key, which is still in our possession, we simply present the red program key followed by the user key (or keys) we want to delete. The
process is closed by presenting the red PK key again, or by time out.
Deleting existing user keys from the Passage function list.
Repeat the Passage Function assigning procedure.
Deleting a lost Passage Mode Setting Key.
By assigning a new PMSK key.
Deleting a lost Programming key.
A red Programming key also has a shadow key. If we have lost the original PK
key then a replacement PK set will be needed.
The lost programming key is deleted by presenting the original shadow key of
the lost PK key, the process of re-programming a new program key is
opened. Only if the new Program key is presented within 5 seconds will the
new PK key be accepted.
If the new key is not placed on the reader then the lock will revert to the
normal working mode under the control of the original Programming key.
If the process is completed, then the new Programming key is assigned
(along with its corresponding shadow key) and the lost Pk key is deleted.
Note that all keys that were programmed in the lock will still work under the
control of the new Programming key.
WARNING: When the PK is lost and the PK shadow key is also lost, the only way of reseting the lock will be sending it back to Salto Systems sl.
Deleting All User Keys from a Lock.
If all users’ keys are to be deleted from a lock (say for example the electronic handles are to be moved to a new site) then the inside plate and handle need to be
removed and using the existing PK follow the procedure outlined in “Assigning the Programming key”.
(Note the Lock will retain the original PK. To replace the PK please follow instruction out lined in “Deleting a lost programming key”).
BATTERIES
Low battery status.
The low battery status can be recognised by 4 slow and low pitched warning tones. If these warnings are ignored then the batteries will fail.
Battery failure.
In the case of complete battery failure the product fails both safe and secure, ie the outside handle fails locked, the inside handle fails open. Note that once the
lock is powered again with new batteries all the keys that were programmed into the lock will still work as before, because the memory is retentive.
Emergency opening.
In the event that the batteries fail and the outside handle fails locked, access to the inside of the door will be required to change the batteries. There are two
options for emergency opening;
1)
Where the SMILE lock with mechanical key override has been used (keys and cylinders available separately). The mechanical key can be used to open the
door.
2)
Where there is no mechanical override key, an (optional) Power up Device (PD) is available that will provide emergency power supply. To open the door
with this unit a valid key holder will also need to be present to use their key.
Replacement batteries.
The electronic furniture is powered by 3 x AAA or 3XAA (Depending on the model) long life alkaline batteries. Note the polarity of batteries when replacing them.
