Connecting

Make sure you use the correct plug type when connecting the Emergency-plug. Refer to
Chapter
2.2 Plug Types
for further information.
Connect the Emergency-plug as follows:
1.
Open the vehicle’s charge port door.
2.
Press the Emergency-plug power button.
The Emergency-plug starts the self-test function. Refer to Chapter 6.2. Use the self-test function
for more information.
3.
Insert the Emergency-plug into the vehicle charging port. Press the Emergency-plug in firmly.
The LED indicator first flashes yellow and then lights up blue.

The LED indicator should light up blue within a maximum of 5 seconds. If the LED indicator
reacts differently, refer to Chapter 2.3. LED indicator colour coding.

Check which type of charging connection should be used. Refer to Chapter
2.2 Plug Types
for further information.

The vehicle may give an error message when the Emergency-plug is connected. This error
message is caused because the vehicle does not receive power through the charging port.
This does not affect the proper functioning of the Emergency-plug. The error message
disappears automatically when the Emergency-plug is disconnected and the vehicle is
switched on again via the power button.
