Check Belt Tightness
Hold the
Forward-Facing
Belt Path
with your non-
dominant hand. Push and pull
from side to side.
It should not move more than
1 in.
(2.5 cm).
Adjust Footrest
Use the
Forward-Facing
footrest
arm and footrest positions that
best fi ts your child. You may also
place the footrest into the storage
position. Your child’s knees
MUST
NOT
pass the top of the cup
holders and/or snack tray.
If the car seat
moves more than 1 in.
(2.5 cm),
you can try:
• Pulling the belt
tighter;
OR
• Reinstalling the car
seat;
OR
• Changing to a
different seating
location;
OR
• Switching to a
different install
method (LATCH or
vehicle belt).

Check the tightness of the install often to make sure it
has not loosened. See steps 8 and 10.
Has the tether been installed and tightened? See
steps 4 and 9.
Is the footrest in a position that best fi ts your child?
