Tighten Belt
Place hand in child restraint.
Firmly push child restraint down
and towards the vehicle seat
back while pulling the free end of
the belt parallel with the belt path
through the belt path opening as
shown.

Check Belt Tightness
Hold child restraint at the belt
path with your weaker hand.
Push and pull from side to side.
It should not move more than
1 in.
(2.5 cm).
If it moves more than 1 in. (2.5 cm), you can try:
A.
Pulling the belt tighter.
B.
Reinstalling the child restraint.
C.
Changing to a different seating location.
D.
Switching to vehicle belt installation.

often to make sure it has not
loosened.
Recheck Rear-Facing
Level Line
For children who cannot sit up
unassisted,
the level line
must
be parallel with the ground.
For children who can sit up
unassisted,
you may rotate the
child restraint to be more upright
in Position 2.
Redo the installation if not re-
clined correctly for your child.
NOTE:
Only if necessary, you
may need to place a tightly rolled
towel(s) or foam pool noodle(s)
under the front of the base to
help achieve the correct recline.
Check often to be sure padding
is still in place and the belt is
tight.
