glass, nails, wire, or string which can be
blown a considerable distance by high
velocity air.
For assembling with petrol-driven power
head
■
Never start or run the engine in a closed or
poorly ventilated area. Breathing exhaust
fumes can kill.
■
Do not touch the area around the silencer
or the cylinder of the product, these parts
get hot from operation.
■
Always stop the engine and allow it to cool
before making any adjustments.
■
Mix and store fuel in a container approved
for fuel.
■
Mix fuel outdoors where there are no
sparks or flames. Wipe up any fuel spillage.
Move 9 m away from refueling site before
starting the engine.
■
Stop the engine and allow to cool before
refueling or storing the unit.
■
Allow the engine to cool. Empty the fuel tank
and the oil tank (if applicable), and secure
the unit from moving before transporting in
a vehicle.
For assembling with electric-driven power
head
■
The power plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do
not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce the risk of
electric shock.
■
Avoid unintentional starting. Always check
that the switch is in the “Off” position before
plugging in the product to the power supply.
Do not carry a plugged-in product with your
finger on the witch.
■
Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
■
Do not expose the product to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering the product will
increase the risk of electric shock.
■
Electrical power should be supplied via
a residual current device (RCD) with a
tripping current of not more than 30 mA.
■
Before every use, examine the power
cord for damage. If there are signs of
damage, it must be replaced by at an
authorised service centre. Always uncoil
the power cord during use; coiled cables
can overheat.
■
If the cord becomes damaged during use,
disconnect the cord from the power supply
immediately. Do not touch the cord before
disconnecting the power supply. Do not
use the product if the cord is damaged or
worn.
■
If you need to use an extension cord, ensure
it is suitable for outdoor use and has a current
capacity rating sufficient to supply your tool.
The extension cord cable should be marked
with either “H05 RN F” or “H05 VV F”.
Check the extension cord before every use
for damage. Always uncoil the extension
cord during use because coiled cords can
overheat. Damaged extension cords should
not be repaired, they should be replaced
with an equivalent type. The extension cord
should not be less than 10 m if the supply
cord does not exceed 0.5 m.
■
Make sure the power cord is positioned
so that it will not be stepped on, tripped
over, or otherwise subjected to damage or
stress.
■
Never pick up or carry the product by the
electric cable.
■
Never pull by the power cord to disconnect
from the power supply.
■
Keep the power cord away from heat, oil,
and sharp edges.
■
Always direct the cable to the rear, away
from the machine.
■
Make sure voltage is correct for your
product. A nameplate on the product
indicates the unit’s voltage. Never connect
the product to an AC voltage that differs
from this voltage.
■
Make sure the switch is in “Off” position
before disconnecting from power supply.
BLOWER SAFETY WARNINGS
■
Operate the product only at reasonable
hours – not early in the morning or late at
night when people might be disturbed.
■
Never operate the product in an explosive
atmosphere.
