Rear wheel removal or replacement
You may have to remove the rear wheel to fix a flat, replace the tire or replace the cassette. These
directions explain the steps to remove and replace the rear wheel.
How to remove the rear wheel
1.
First, shift the rear wheel into 9
th
gear. Whether or not the chain is on the Rungu, shifting to 9
th
gear before wheel removal makes wheel removal easier.
2.
If possible, find an object (e.g. empty bucket, cardboard box) that you can use to support the
bike after the rear wheel is removed. Alternatively, hang the rear triangle from straps or ropes
to support the rear triangle after the rear wheel is removed.
