Connecting the Analog Inputs
NOTE: It is good practice to connect all unused channels to ground, as shown in the following diagram. Failure
to do so may affect the accuracy of your results.
Connect the high side of the analog input to one of the analog input channels, AIN1 through AIN16, and connect
the low side to the corresponding dedicated ANALOG GND for the selected channel. Figure 2-2 shows how these
connections are made.
Connecting the Timer/Counters and Digital I/O
For all of these connections, the high side of an external signal source or destination device is connected to the
appropriate signal pin on the I/O connector, and the low side is connected to any DIGITAL GND.
Running the 5210DIAG Diagnostics Program
Now that your module is ready to use, you will want to try it out. An easy-to-use, menu-driven diagnostics
program, 5210DIAG, is included with your example software to help you verify your module’s operation. You can
also use this program to make sure that your current base address setting does not contend with another device.
