The filter setting must be set to
YES
so that the machine recognizes that the filter is in
use. The factory setting is without a filter.

If you use a filter in your coffee machine and have programmed the system fil-
ter setting to
YES
, programming for water hardness and decalcifying will not be
shown anymore.
• Press the programming button
P
in order to start program mode.
• Press the

button until the display shows
FILTER
.
• Press the
ok
button.
• Press the
>
button until the display shows
YES
.
• Confirm with the
ok
button.
• The display will now show
insert FILTER / TURN valve
alternatingly.
• Empty the water tank (17) screw the filter into the holder (21) using the mounting
tool (22).
• Fill the tank with freshwater and replace it in the machine.
• Hold a receptacle under the hot water jet (12) and turn the dial (11) to the right. The
system will now be rinsed.
• Wait until no more water comes out of the jet and then turn the dial (11) closed to
the left.
• The system will heat up briefly and is then ready for operation again.
(It can happen that the service button [2] is still blinking. Press the button [2] and a
short rinse will take place through the coffee outlet [8].)

The effectiveness of the filter is exhausted after about 50 l of water. The display
will indicate that the filter must be changed (see chapter 5.2).
Important:
Even if the display shows nothing, the filter should be changed after
two months at the latest even if little coffee was brewed.
Without filter
If you do not want to use a filter anymore, the filter setting must be reprogrammed to
NO
.
This is important since without a filter it is necessary to decalcify the coffee machine.

• Press the

.
• Confirm with the
ok
button. The display will now show
FILTER.
• From this point you can go directly to programming other settings or use the

button to leave program mode.

Don't forget to program the water hardness (see section 4.3).
4.3 Water hardness
Depending on the hardness of the water in your region and whether you are using a
filter (see chapter 4.2), your coffee machine must be decalcified sooner or later. So that
the system can show when decalcification is necessary, you must first enter the cor-
rect water hardness setting before using the coffee machine for the first time.
