2.3 Setting the fineness of the coffee mill
Please note:
Adjust the fineness setting only when the coffee mill is in operation.
You can adjust the grinder to suit the roast of your coffee beans. We
recommend, however, that you leave the coffee mill at the medium setting.
• Open the cover of the bean holder (18).
• Turn the adjustment knob (19) to the desired position with the mill running. The
smaller the point, the finer the coffee is ground. Please note:
– Light roasted beans require a fine setting.
– Dark roasted beans require a coarse setting.
2.4 Using the cup warming function
Your fully automatic coffee machine is equipped with a «passive» cup-warming func-
tion. The operating heat of the machine is transferred to the cup-warming plate (16)
where it can warm up any cups placed there (only when the machine is turned on).
Only for model 755 (U27.55CH):
This model is equipped with an active cup-warming function.
• Use the switch (16a) on the side of the machine to turn the cup-warming function
on and off.
• The light in the switch indicates whether the function is turned on or off.
• This function works as well when the machine is turned off.
3. Preparation
Please note:

The coffee machine was set at the factory so that you could make your first cup
of coffee immediately. However, we recommend that you program the most
important basic settings according to your needs. Therefore, you should first
carry out the steps for language, filter and water hardness settings mentioned
in chapter 4. Programming.

When using the coffee machine for the first time, or if it has not been used for a
long time, the first cup of coffee will not have a full aroma and should not be drunk.
TIP:
Models 753 (U27.53) and 755 (U27.55) are equipped with a personal «My cof-
fee» function. Through pressing the 1- or 2-cup buttons for 3 sec you will in all
cases activate the preparation of «My coffee». The corresponding program-
ming, set at the factory to 120ml, normal, can be changed at any time as des-
cribed in chapter 4. Programming.
Models 753/U27.53CH and 755/U27.55CH are equipped with automatic cup lighting
for even greater visual enjoyment. It lights up during the coffee preparation process
and turns off a few seconds after the coffee cycle is complete.
