GETTING STARTED
Accessories
The Drill is supplied with the following
accessories:
• Auxiliary handle
• Depth gauge
• 100 various drill bits
CAUTION:
Always ensure that the drill is
switched off and plug is removed from the
power point before making any adjustments.
Using the Drill
1. The drill features a keyless chuck for greater
convenience of use.
2.To insert a drill bit or other accessory, open
the chuck (5) by holding the rear section
of the chuck firmly and rotating the front
section in an anti-clockwise direction,
sufficient to allow the drill bit to be inserted
into the jaws of the chuck.
3. Ensure the drill bit is fully inserted.
4. Holding the rear section of the chuck firmly,
rotate the front section of the chuck clockwise
until the jaws tighten on the drill bit.
5.To remove the drill bit, repeat Step 2.
WARNING!
Do not attempt to tighten the
chuck by gripping the front part and turning
the drill on. Damage to the tool and personal
injury may result. Be sure to tighten the chuck
with one hand on the rear portion and the
other on the front portion of the chuck to
achieve maximum tightness.
Auxiliary handle
1. Turn the handle (8) anti-clockwise to loosen the
collar and slip it over the clutch onto the drill.
2. Adjust the position of the handle to suit
the application, add the depth gauge (9) if
required and tighten the handle to secure it
in place.
Forward/reverse switch
The forward/reverse lever switch determines
the direction of rotation of the tool and serves
as a lock off button.
1. To select forward rotation, release the
trigger switch and push the forward/reverse
lever switch to the left side of the tool.
2. To select reverse, push the forward/reverse
lever switch to the right side of the tool.
WARNING!
When changing the position of the
lever switch be sure the trigger is released and
the motor is stationary.
NOTE:
The first time the tool is run after
changing the direction of rotation, you may
hear a click on start up. This is normal and
does not indicate a problem.
Variable speed dial
The variable speed dial (7) provides a safety
feature to the user when driving screws. You
can use this dial to vary the speed.
Turn the dial to the “
+
” direction to increase
the speed and to the “
-
” direction to decrease
the speed.
NOTE:
Use lower speeds for starting holes
without a centre punch, drilling metals or
plastic, driving screws and drilling ceramics, or
in applications requiring a higher torque.
Higher speeds are better for drilling wood,
wood compositions and for using abrasive and
polishing accessories.
OPERATION
Switching on and off
1. Connect the plug to the power point.
2. Start the tool by squeezing the on/off trigger
switch (1). Release the trigger to stop the
tool.
3. If you press the lock on button (2) while the
trigger switch is depressed, the switch is
kept in the operating position.
4. To release the lock on button, press and
release the trigger switch.
CAUTION:
Allow the motor to come to a
complete standstill before setting the drill
down.
