Manual focusing (6008 AF)

To focus, turn ring

. Check focus status

either on the ground glass or with the aid
of the focus indicator, placing the focus
area (see illustration) on the subject to be
focused.

Keep turning ring

until only the central

part of the focus indicator appears. Arrows
indicate in which direction the ring should
be turned. (See the table below.)

If all three components of the focus indica-
tor are blinking, focusing with the ranging
system is impossible. In this case, place
the focus area on a more contrasty and
better textured subject detail at the same
distance.

Note:

Coarse manual prefocusing is required
with lenses of longer than 180mm focal
length, since ranging errors are then pos-
sible for technical reasons.
