Formatting an SD Memory Card
Formatting an SD card will erase all the images on the SD memory card. Be sure
the SD memory card is properly inserted into the camera before formatting it.
1. Set the mode dial to the Record mode,
the Manual Record mode or the
Playback mode.
2. Press the delete button.
3. Select
FORMAT by using the or
button, and then press the button.
4. “FORMAT?” message appears on the
image.
Use the or button to select [YES],
and press the
button.
If you want to cancel the action, select
[NO].
5. If you select [YES], the “Frame No. Reset”
message appears.
To reset the frame number, use the
or button to select [YES], and press
the button.
• The SD memory card cannot be formatted when it is locked. Unlock the SD memory card
first.
• Formatting the SD memory card also erases the protected images. All data other than
images are also erased. Before formatting the card, make sure that none of the images on
the card are still required.
• If the SD memory card is having problems then it won’t be properly formatted.
• If no memory card is inserted into the camera, the internal memory will be formatted. This
will erase all images stored in the internal memory.
