8. SETTINGS FOR THE PARTS
For each individual Part you can make settings which control their volume level and panning
(orientation of sound image for stereo output).
Additionally, settings can be made on an individual Part basis for every item which is indicated
with
❖
PART
❖
throughout this manual.
In every case, changes in settings will affect only the currently selected Part.
◆
Making the Settings
While holding down the PART button, press the “1” button to set the Level, and the “2”
button to set the Pan. Keep your finger on the PART button while you then press either UP or
DOWN until you have obtained the value you desire. The current value for the setting is
shown in the display.
1. LEVEL
❖
PART
❖
To adjust the overall balance of the Parts (in relation to one another), a volume setting should be
made for each Part. The permissible range extends from 0 to 127.
* Note that even with a high value selected for the level, you will not obtain the expected
amount of volume if you have the Master Level (
☞
p. 24) set to a relatively low level.
2. PAN
❖
PART
❖
This setting allows you to set the Pan (orientation of sound image for stereo output) for each
Part. The setting range extends from –63 to 63, and includes a “rnd” setting.
As the value is increased, more of the sound will be heard as coming from the right. The more a
negative value is increased, the more the sound will be heard as coming from the left. A
specialized effect is obtained with the “rnd” setting — the sound will be heard as coming from
a multitude of randomly changing directions.
