3.2 Installing Private Channels
Now, let's talk about private channels. You won’t find private channels
when you browse the channel store with your remote, and they are private
for a number of reasons. Maybe they have adult content; maybe they're in a
beta testing phase. Maybe they just don't have an official app yet. What
matters the most is, if you want to install a private channel, you’ll need a
'secret' code or link.
To install private channels:

You'll have to search for the channels in an online search
engine. A search of "best free Roku channels" should give you a lot
of resources to start working with (we have added some of the best
Roku channels websites in the final chapter of this book called
Resources).

Codes are alphanumeric and can look like H9DWC or
greatchefs, for example.

Write down those codes and install them through the Roku
website.
•
Sign in to your account and head to the “My Account” page.
•
Click "Add a Channel" under "Manage Account".
•
Enter the channel’s code where prompted and click "Add
Channel".
Sometimes you’ll be able to find links that will automatically send you
to the “Add Channel” page and even automatically enter the code for you.
In this case, the link will still have the same URL as the Add Channel page,
but the code will be at the end of the link. No matter which option you
choose, make sure that the code is correct and everything should be
