Lock the controller
You can protect the TC 504 from unauthorized usage by locking the keypad . Push
the “ O “ in ROHDE for at least 3 seconds . A spot on the left side of the temperature
display indicates that the controller is locked . To unlock, push the “
O
“ in ROHDE
until the red spot goes out .
Power failure
The firing will be interrupted if there is a power failure during firing . After re-establi-
shing the power supply the firing process continues from where it was interrupted .
If the kiln temperature drops more than 50°C during the power failure, the firing will
be interrupted (an error message will be displayed, see Appendix A) .
If the power failure continues for more than 30 minutes, the program will be inter-
rupted and the process will stop as the quality of the fired goods cannot be
guaranteed .
Hold the firing process
The TC 504 allows you to hold the firing pro-
cess manually . Press the “ O “ in ROHDE and
“
prog
“ key in order to hold the firing in process
(the display shows “
hold
“ flashing) . Both time
count and setpoint temperature in ramps stop .
Thus the kiln is held at the actual setpoint tem-
perature for an indefinite time (only in con-
trolled ramps!) . The firing process is held until
you press the “ O “ in ROHDE and “ prog “ key
again .
TC 504 Controller with 2 or 3-zone control
If your kiln is equipped with 2 or 3 heating zones (optional), the TC 504 allows you
to control the respective zones and their heating automatically according to the
setpoint temperature curve . This ensures even distribution of heat .
Push the “zone“ key to call the actual values of each heating zone . The display
shows the different zones .
